鳌花鱼又叫桂鱼、鳜鱼,属于分类学中的脂科鱼类。鳌花鱼是“三花五罗”中最名贵的鱼,即使在过去一般百姓也很难消费得起。那时每斤鳌花鱼的售价几乎是鲤鱼的两倍。鳌花鱼身体侧扁,背部隆起,身体较厚;尖头,是黑龙江中最美丽的一种鱼。
鳌花鱼含有蛋白质、脂肪、少量维生素、钙、钾、镁、硒等营养元素,肉质细嫩,极易消化,对儿童、老人及体弱、脾胃消化功能不佳的人来说,吃鳌花鱼既能补虚,又不必担心消化困难;
吃鳌花鱼有“痨虫”的作用,也就是说有利于肺结核病人的康复;
