Steps to make Sweet Red Date Zongzi

  • 1. Put the zongzi leaves in boiling water and blanch until soft. After removing them, wash them with clean water and use scissors to cut off the part with a diameter in front
  • 2. Soak glutinous rice in clean water for 3-4 hours, then remove and wash to dry. Add an appropriate amount of sugar and olive oil and mix well
  • 3. Roll the processed leaves into a funnel shape, add glutinous rice to half of the funnel, and put in the pitted red dates
  • 4. Add another handful of glutinous rice to cover the red dates
  • 5. Fold the zongzi leaves in one direction, completely wrapping the glutinous rice
  • 6. Fold it back into a triangular shape and tie it firmly with cotton thread
  • 7. Wrap all Zongzi in this way
  • 8. Put Zongzi into the voltage cooker and add water to the zongzi noodles
  • 9. Cook for 3-4 hours
