Steps to make Zongqing Dragon Boat Festival --- [Red Bean Zongzi]

  • 1. Wash and soak glutinous rice, and also soak red beans (soak rice and red beans in the refrigerator the night before). Wash and soak dried zongzi leaves, then let them sit in a pot of water and cook for 10 minutes. Remove and soak in clean water. Prepare cotton thread and scissors;
  • 2. Take a zongzi leaf and fold it into a funnel shape from one-third of the way;
  • 3. Fill with glutinous rice and red beans;
  • 4. Cover the upper leaves, and fold the tail to the side to make small sharp Zongzi;
  • 5. Tie it with cotton thread;
  • 6. Package all Zongzi;
  • 7. Put Zongzi into the pressure cooker and add water to cover Zongzi;
  • 8. Cover the lid, bring to a boil over medium to high heat, then turn to medium to low heat, and turn off the heat after 30 minutes;
  • 9. After natural deflation, open the lid of the pot and take out Zongzi;
  • 10. Peel Zongzi and eat it! (You can dip it in white sugar to eat.)
