Steps to make Yaozhu sauce meat zongzi

  • 1. Put the zongzi leaves in boiling water and blanch until soft. Remove and rinse with clean water for later use
  • 2. Use scissors to cut off the front part with a diameter
  • 3. Soak glutinous rice in clean water for 3-4 hours, then remove and wash to dry. Add an appropriate amount of dark soy sauce, salt, and olive oil, stir well, and set aside for later use
  • 4. Wash and dice the pork (choose your own size), marinate it overnight with cooking wine, soy sauce, salt, and five spice powder for later use
  • 5. Yaozhu should also be soaked in warm water in advance to soften and set aside for later use
  • 6. Roll the processed leaves into a funnel shape and add a little sticky rice

  • 8. Cover with another layer of glutinous rice and place an appropriate amount of scallops in the middle

  • 10. Fold the zongzi leaves in one direction and completely wrap the glutinous rice
  • 11. Fold it back into a triangular shape and try to pinch the stable shape with your own fingers
  • 12. Bundle firmly with cotton thread
  • 13. Fill the wrapped Zongzi with water
  • 14. Boil for 2-3 hours
